Geert Bauwens Pro Line Field Tester
Hello,
I am from Moerbeke-Waas, which is situated between Gent and Sint-Niklaas in Belgium. I am the father of two lovely kids, Quinten and Lisa.
My first steps in carp fishing I took about 20 years ago, because of my dad. We fished in the still quiet Zeeland, with corn and worms. There I
was caught with the passion for carp fishing which I'm still feeling today.
I fished for many years in the Netherlands, not aware yet of France. Me and some friends were the first to fish at the beautiful waters of Stellendam in Goeree. A couple of years later I moved on to France and fished at about every possible water there. On the French rivers Moselle and Seine I learned a lot. Lately I only fish the circuit waters near to my home town, still trying to develop my skills. When I have a couple of days off I sometimes go to the known canals in the "kempen". I really want to keep growing and find new challenges each year.
As apposed to what many think My fishing hours are limited. I am an active manager for the V.B.K. I am also responsible for the region Oost Vlaanderen and the water 'Puyenbroeck". I would like to tell every carp fisher to become a member of either V.B.K. or K.S.N. to help conserve the fishing sport. I also like to write about my experiences and do so for some fishing magazines. Once every three months I try to make a magazine for our region. It takes a lot of time but especially in winter months it is a nice passtime for me.
In the past I have fished with all sorts of bait. From this experience I can tell you I don't accept everything people tell me about bait. In working with Pro-line I experienced their professionality and knowledge. I like to adjust my bait to the season and in the spring and autumn the activator boilie is my favourite. With this boilie in a short time I caught some thirty pounders. It works very well on waters where many people fish. I think it is because of the rough structure and the specific ingredients which favour the time the fluid additions take to poor out. This really works well in the undeep waters. The instant character of the boilie in cold water is also a benefit of it. It contains salmon flour instaed of normal fish flour, which is not used on a large scale yet. In the autumn I mix in some extra kelp and seeds which gives the fish some extra vitmines and minerals to get trough the winter. Also the crunchy effect of the extra seeds is a great benefit.
In the summer time I go to France on a regular basis. The squis robin-red boilie proofs it's worth there time and again. The oil containing products and the additions make it a good boilie for hot temperatures.
I would like to make a contribution to making improvements in the field of baits. In the future i will go on testing some new mixes to see how attractive they are and what else can be done to make them even better.
